The entertainment center, built in bookshelves and stone gas fireplace, make this room a great place for gathering. The owners suite includes a huge walk in closet, luxury bathroom with custom tile work, walk in shower, whirlpool tub, dual vanities and heated floors. The main floor office study nook with a built in desk and storage is a great place to catch up on paperwork. Geothermal heating really makes the home cozy, and energy efficient.

The oversized 3 car heated garage leads into the mud room with built in bench and lockers. The mudroom is conveniently adjoined with the laundry room and 3/4 bath making it easy to clean up after a long day of working outdoors. The lower level has a spacious family room , home theatre setup and features is in-floor heat throughout. Two more bedrooms overlooking the woods a full bath and ample storage space, make this lower level complete.

Here is an update on Landsted’s custom built cottage in the woods in Hudson, WI! It is low maintenance, economical to heat, and makes the most of the hilltop setting. We have designed several variations on this concept to appeal to the young family and empty nester alike!

Landsted is custom building a storybook retreat in the woods on the outskirts of Hudson, WI for a client who wants independent living in the woods without the maintenance and expense of a larger home. It is inexpensive to build (under 250k), uses less than $90 per month of gas to heat, and lives like a far larger home. It has heated stamped concrete floors on both levels.
