Here are some photos, one before and the rest more recent, of our cottage project on the St. Croix. Due to Town of Troy, St. Croix County and DNR regulations and the proximity of the site to the River, we cannot increase the height or footprint of the structure.
Notable features include:
Geothermal heat with radiant raupanels with hot-water tubing beneath the skip-sawn white oak flooring. We also used closed-cell spray foam insulation, for its very high value per inch. We created a loft area for the four children who will call this their summer home. It will be accessed via a ships ladder, and although it only has 5’2″ of head-room, I know it will be a big hit. As soon as we obtain the needed permits, we will re-construct the cedar deck and limestone retaining walls, which had deteriorated. There will also be limestone accents on the entry columns, etc.

Landsted is currently renovating a cottage on a beautiful St. Croix River lot in Hudson, WI. Due to stringent regulations, the work must be completed within the existing building envelope. Earth tone finishes are being utilized to minimize the view of the structure from the river. The home features geothermal heat, heated floors, closed-cell foam insulation, a sauna, two fireplaces, a large sleeping loft, and a huge deck overlooking the river.

The Landsted team designed and built this 3 bedroom wooded hill-top retreat in Indigo Ponds in Hudson, WI. It sits on a 2+ acre lot with easy access to private trails, a lake and nature preserve. The spacious kitchen has stainless steel appliances, 3/4 inch tongue and groove white oak flooring, alder millwork and cabinetry, a granite island with storage below, and hand blown custom pendant lights by casanova glass, truly making the kitchen a one of a kind.
This home features a large screened porch, deck, and great-room with a wall of windows overlooking the woods and ponds. The entertainment center, built in bookshelves and stone gas fireplace, make this room a great place for gathering.

The owners suite includes a huge walk in closet, luxury bathroom with custom tile work, walk in shower, whirlpool tub, dual vanities and heated floors. The main floor office study nook with a built in desk and storage is a great place to catch up on paperwork. Geothermal heating really makes the home cozy, and energy efficient.
